Most evenings when I shut down the computer I will delete the cookies and clear the cache. Every so often I also run the disc defrag. The purpose of course is to help the computer stay cleaner and run faster, as well as more privacy.
A couple of weeks ago I happened upon an article called “You Deleted Your Cookies? Think again”.
After reading the article myself, I decided to install
* Better Privacy extension for Firefox -
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6623
I personally found over 2,000 of the LSO or “Flash cookies” on my system and many of them were from way back in 2008.
The idea of being tracked in such a sneaky way did not sit well with me. I now delete the LSO’s each evening as well. You may want to consider adding on the Better Privacy extension to your Fire Fox browser as well and see who is spying on YOU.
If you decide to use the Better Privacy Fire Fox extension, be sure the auto delete check boxes are all checked. I have it set to delete at start-up, close, and every evening.
You could set it to delete every 15 minutes if you wanted to. Its a matter of personal preference and how bad you want to keep the cookie monster at bay.
